After five years of running social media pages on my own for another company/organization, I am excited to announce that I am launching my own agency!

After eight years of professional photography, from events to portraits, to travel, I am ready to get back to what I know. It has been more than three years since I have stepped into a photo studio to capture studio portraits.

My first unpaid photography internship turned job in 2012 in Washington D.C. was my first introduction to managing social media for a small business. When I wasn’t photographing customers, I was helping to manage the studio’s social media pages. I’ve always loved the work that I do with the incorporation of photography and social media.

I joined Facebook against my mom’s wishes (sorry mom!) But through this, I was able to learn the in’s and outs of Facebook before Facebook Pages.

As of 2018, I have had ten social media clients and two marketing certifications.

With six of those ten clients, I outsourced because the workload was just too much. That was my aha moment. I figured it’s time.

I have learned a few things along the way. I have observed a lack of female equality and a lack of diverse representation. There is a point where we entrepreneurs are struggling too much and a change is bound to occur. There are many things that go into social media marketing; some things that easily go unnoticed. As a result, there is a need for the higher paying wages for women.

This is the Year of the Woman. In the words of Beyonce, We Run the World!

We have the tendency to be more patient, flexible, understanding and educating while being of service to others. That is what makes us unique at Phocused Media Group. Our motto is: we focus on your social media so you do not have to.

This agency will be unique in the sense of being transparent while teaching people on the side with workshops, online courses, and consultations. These are great for those who are not a fit for our full packages. On average, full-scale projects last approximately six months to a year. There are so many small businesses out there that were doing well before social media but can do even better with social media. Our goal is to make sure that when we do part ways, you are more educated than you were in the beginning.

So I can focus on my own personal goals and medical needs while working a night job, I signed a lease for a co-working office space in Nashville, Tennessee. This is the amazing thing about God’s timing; you never know when it’s coming. That’s why you have to stay ready.

I have been blessed to be able to stay focused on my purpose and witness everything manifest.

Having this minority led agency allows me to allow the five ladies on the team to do what they love.

This agency isn’t about me, this is a part of my legacy. It’s something to leave for my kids to know about me, especially if they decide to enter the S.T.E.M. world. I know mobile, internet and digital ads are not going anywhere anytime soon.

My goal later on down the road, is to give back and teach what I know by partnering with or launching a school in an African country.
