The bigger I grow within the marketing world, the more clients I have. The bigger team I have, the more my prices increase. Through it all, I need a way to stay financially organized seamlessly. Freshbooks has been that solution for me. Here are the reasons why I fell in love with Freshbooks.

I tried Harvest, Bonsai, and I tried Airtable, but the most difficult thing that I had was being able to keep track of my time even when I get a phone call that takes me away from what I’m doing, when I have to walk away from a task because it’s frustrating; when all of a sudden I got hungry entrepreneurs and bloggers know what I mean when you work so hard and forget to eat, when a bathroom break is longer than intended (women issues), when my husband has an emergency, and the list goes on! For the longest, I was searching how can I accurately track my time for my clients? Low and behold Freshbooks has a pause and resume timer!

I had heard of Freshbooks multiple times in Facebook groups but initially, I found out about it through Melyssa Griffin and then again from Michelle Schroeder-Gardner of Making Sense of Cents.

When it comes to invoicing, I have tried almost every app. I just about religiously used Paypal, until I started doing the year-end expenses recap and realize they deduct a lot of fees. Then, I switched to using Square for those who were comfortable with not using Paypal. I
even started using the quick apps such as Square Cash (Cash me outside) and Venmo just to avoid so many fees. Now, clients can still use Paypal as a payment method, but my only fee is 50 cents! This is much easier because it is connected to my Stripe account and payments are automatically transferred within one to two business days.

Tracking my time, sending the invoice to a client, waiting for the payment to deposit to my account, are all things every freelancer experiences. Now I can include it all in one! The best part of all, I don’t have to sit down at a computer to do this, thanks to their apps for both Android and iPhone and their amazing system. I also don’t have to pay an extra fee for a recurring billing. No more starving or paying bills late because a client didn’t pay on time! I get all of this and more for just $15/month!

Now, the only downside is that sometimes I will have the timer minimized and get sidetracked,
Nonetheless, I can substitute the time that I forget to stop the timer for the times I forget to start the timer!

They have really cool and relatable animated How To Videos.

The entrepreneurial community talks about it’s a better accountant with Quickbooks.
Once I add an accountant to my team, she can also see my tax-related entries and get a jumpstart on taxes.
For now, I’m keeping both because I still use all Intuit products for financial management and taxes.
Costly? Maybe. So far this works for me.

Interesting enough, Freshbooks is a Canadian based product just like Hootsuite.
I must say, based off of the products I use, I love Canada!
It works well for bloggers, social media marketers, and designers. It especially works well for those who have a small team who needs to get paid.

It also allows the option to add, which will make it so easy to pay my employees once I launch my all-female digital marketing agency.

There are many cool features that caused me to fall in love with Freshbooks. Aside from the ones mentioned above. Blue is my favorite color so naturally, it’s seamless on my eyes.

So if you are looking for a simple way to track time effortlessly and ensure you are getting paid what you are worth with fewer fees and a better method, then choose Freshbooks. This is another program marketed to bloggers, social media marketers, and freelancers.
