WHAT AN AMAZING SUNDAY!

Today has been amazing from start to finish.

First I had amazing sleep because I was soo warm!
I was so comfortable that I overslept from the original time I was supposed to meet my mom! (Oops!) But it worked out, because she knows how I can get.
Since she is in town, I drove her around town and showed her, what took me a month to discover by foot.
Showed her my school (School starts tomorrow–yay!)
She was just as fascinated with it as I was when I first saw it!
The we went to our favorite spot–Whole Foods Market! We were both fascinated by allll the choices of food!

Last but not least, the best part of the day. We met a friend at the Sankofa Cafe (www.sankofa.com) near Howard University. While there, I was thrilled to see my fellow Crossroader’s jewelry in the store (www.beadsbyaree.com). And to my pleasure, it was an unexpected meeting of the well known historic photographer, Roy Lewis (http://www.thehistorymakers.com/biography/biography.asp?bioindex=967&category=ArtMakerswww.sankofa.com) near Howard University. It was amazing to learn about him! It was a history class, photography class, and inspiration, all in one! He is best known for photographing Martin Luther King, Muhammad Ali and the Million Man March in the 60s-70s. He’s 74 years old and still rolling! Such an inspiration!

After that, we met with an Operation Crossroads Africa Alumni, and they were discussing how Operation Crossroads Africa’s Alumni network is not as active as it should be, as it can be! And how the organization is not as out there as it was in the 60s-70s.
I am honored to have undertaken the role of helping to bring it back. I feel it is worth it in every way, because it changed my life, had a huge impact on my life, and it is worth inspiring the future young generation as well!

It seems to be its opportunity, after opportunity coming my way to allow me to do what I love while providing my skills and talents! It’s a blessing!

Well, tomorrow is the first day of the rest of my life! Will update you again soon! :)
