Ever since 2011, I have made an annual trip to New York City in the summer months, usually in June. A lot of it has to do with my work with Operation Crossroads Africa. My mom is also from New York City, so I have family there in which I am able to visit with sometimes. I've been to many places and seen many things in the city that, usually, never sleeps, such as Brooklyn, Queens, and of course, Manhattan.
Here are some of my tips on what to see, do and eat:
Brooklyn itself is such a colorful and artsy suburb of New York City as a hub of different cultures. Of course it is also home to numerous well known rappers.
The Barclays Center
World Trade Center
Harlem aka Home of The original Apollo Theater
This image pretty much summarizes how it feels with all the choices of places to eat and things to do. There are plenty of places to eat in Times Square, although usually more expensive due to high tourism, if you are ever blank or undecisive on what to eat, just take a walk down Times Square also known as 42nd Street and take your pick.
Deli (NYC is home of the delicious sandwiches)
Sbarro (The Original!)
Pizza (Italian Style!)
I know, I know, this post does not do New York City justice, because there are so many great places to go, things to see, and places to eat there. These are just ones based off of the images I was able to easily find in my archives. ;)
